Harugeri is located in the North western part of Karnataka. The total Geographical area is 12008.55 square Kilometers. & It is comes under Raibag Taluka Belgaum Dist & Karnataka State. In out of the Raibag Talukas 55 inhabited villages, Harugeri is Biggest in all aspects having and hamlets with rural population of 28578 souls as per 1991 census. Out of Geographical area 74% of the area is used for cultivation. Geologically the area is covered by Deccan Trap formation. The average Annual rainfall is 514 mm. The Krishna River runs very near to Harugeri.
The main occupations of the Harugeri are agriculture & Business. Cultivated area of the Harugeri is 11421.54 Hectares. The crops grown are Sugarcane, Tobacco, Wheat, and Ground nut. The area is covered by Ghataprabha project. The irrigable area by canals, Irrigation tanks and open wells is 8645.37 Hectares. There are around 3 sugar factories located near Harugeri. Harugeri town is the main market center having small A.P.M.C. Yard.
